Pair of antique French Louis XV style walnut armchairs, c.1880
Known as fauteuils, these chairs have elegant scrolling arms and curved cabriole legs. Hand carved details throughout, with acanthus leaf motifs to the front and side aprons. Padded seat, back and arm rests upholstered in fabric. The back and sides are in leather with nailhead trim. Good antique condition, joints tightened and very comfortable to sit in. One small blemish on front left chair seat. Note old Belgian shop label on underside.
