This Andy Warhol very rare vintage 1976 iconic silkscreen print custom framed collector's Pop Art exhibition poster " Marilyn " 1967, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Published by The Kunsthalle Zu Kiel Museum, printed in Germany in 1976 in an unnumbered limited edition by Domberrger Siebdruck Stuttgart, on the occasion of the " American Prints from 1945 to the Present Day " exhibition. It features an iconic artwork image of actress Marilyn Monroe originally created by Warhol in 1967 titled " Marilyn ".

Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. His is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
Warhol's " Marilyn " 1967, is from one of the artist's most sought after acclaimed portfolio series. Set against a background of vibrant hot pink, this Pop Art portrait is feminine, bold, and iconic. The image is based on Gene Korman's photograph of the starlet, a promotional photo for the 1953 Film Noir Niagra. The bold coloration of the artwork recalls the saturated hues of the technicolor world in which Marilyn Monroe's career skyrocketed. The result is an inspiring exploration of the symbol of Marilyn Monroe as a Pop Art icon and cultural figure evoking her ubiquitous celebrity status.
The rare out of print framed collector's Pop Art exhibition poster measures 23" W X 33 1/2" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern satin finish black metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and light surface wear.
