The elegant artwork specifically features the signature line "Engraved, Printed and Coloured by Robt. Havell 1838," indicating it is from the original London folio edition produced between 1827 and 1838. The plate depicts a serene white swan—known today as the Tundra Swan (or Whistling Swan)—gliding through water alongside delicate yellow water lilies. Audubon painted the original watercolor for this plate in London in 1838. Historians have noted that two sets of faint fingerprints are embedded in the original painting's sky, likely belonging to Audubon himself as the oil paint dried.The signature line confirms it was engraved, printed, and colored by Robert Havell Jr. The original print is encased in a dark wood frame with golden texture + thick off-white matte.
