Exuberant "Locus Solus" dining chairs and table set, designed by Gae Aulenti for Poltronova circa 1964. With bent tubular frames and circular black leather seats, this set is part of the broader Locus Solus collection that included armchairs, pool loungers, benches, and more. A beloved classic of mid century Italian design, pieces from Locus Solus are included in many major museum collections around the world. $6500
Condition is very good, with some pitting to the chrome, a few scratches in the glass, and one table leg is slightly bent--mostly imperceptible and doesn't affect function at all, see last picture. Seats recently recovered in a high quality black leather.
