This elegant late 19th-century English mahogany dining table is beautifully proportioned for everyday use, seating eight comfortably with a fully matched set of coordinating chairs. The eight chairs used in the standard configuration are uniform in design, scale, and finish, creating a cohesive and balanced dining arrangement.

The tabletop is finely matched and well scaled without the extension leaves, making it ideal for daily dining while maintaining a refined, formal presence.

As an added bonus, the table includes extension leaves that allow it to expand to seat up to fourteen guests comfortably for entertaining and holidays. The full suite includes fourteen coordinating chairs, allowing flexibility for both everyday use and larger gatherings.

The table consists of three pedestal sections (each approx. 36" L × 45" W × 31" H) and two 20" leaves. When fully extended, it is 148" long and seats up to 14. It features figured mahogany grain, rope-carved edges, and pedestal bases with carved paw feet, consistent with late 19th–early 20th-century craftsmanship.

Provenance
The antique mahogany table was purchased at a New York auction in the late 1980s. The twelve antique chairs (six plume-back side chairs, two matching armchairs, and four Hepplewhite shield-back side chairs) were acquired shortly afterward to complement the table. The two Chippendale-style side chairs were custom-made in the late 1980s to complete the fourteen-chair suite. The set has remained together in a single family home since then and has been well maintained. See less
