Architectural, curved base made of white porcelain with a horizontal recess and an arched indentation on the underside; set in the centre is the drum-shaped movement with a round brass dial featuring embossed arabic numerals, on the clock case, on either side of the movement a dancing couple dressed in country style – on the left, the young man, dressed in loose-fitting blue-grey trousers and a loose-fitting white shirt with a deep neckline, supporting himself on his left knee and leaning forward in a turn towards his dance partner, whom he holds by the hand; the young woman with reddish hair loosely tied at the nape of her neck, wearing a red bodice over a white long-sleeved shirt, a patterned light-coloured skirt and a bright blue apron, which flutters to the side as she moves in the dance. Lenzkirch movement with key winding, inspected by a master watchmaker, fully cleaned and in perfect working order. Modeller: julius konrad hentschel (coelln 1872 - meissen 1907) studied at the academies in munich and dresden, was a modeler and porcelain painter, worked at the meissen manufactory from 1889, one of the most influential art nouveau artists, designed various forms of tableware, he began his figural creations with amoretti and culminated in a series of playing children. Model w 116 was created 1905/1910.
