The icon itself appears to predate the frame and was likely mounted into the oval gilt frame at a later date, perhaps between the 1970s and 1990s. While they did not begin life together, the pairing creates a striking presentation that highlights the devotional image while lending it a decorative, collected-over-time character.

The icon features a richly gilded surface with age-related craquelure and areas of wear that contribute to its historic appearance.
