Excellent Pristine Pre-Owned Condition.
This fabulous looking ironstone drip glaze creamer and wide mouth open sugar bowl set was made sometime in the early to mid 1960s by Canonsburg Pottery Company. The company was founded in 1900 by John George, the brother of W. S. George Pottery owner, William Shaw George, under the name Canonsburg China Company in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1909, the company was renamed to the Canonsburg Pottery Company. The company officially ceased operations in 1978.
This gorgeous set weighs 1 lb. 4 oz. and measures as follows:
Wide mouth open sugar bowl: 4¼” x 4¼” x 3” W/D/H, capacity 10 oz.
Creamer: width/depth 6” from spout tip-to-handle tip x 3” high; 10 oz. capacity
Color palette is a rich medley of brown hues (chocolate, espresso, umber) with cream undertones and “lava” design striations (brown, beige, tan, cream) in a highly glazed finish. In pristine condition like new condition with little, if any wear. Underside is simply marked made in USA.
A fabulous find for an aficionado of vintage ironstone drip glaze ware or the perfect gift for someone who is.
