The frame is a fine example of how elegant and graceful a picture frame can be; presumably Belgian, first half of the 20th century.

The frame is extensively decorated with flowing acanthus leaves, featuring a dot pattern along the inside edge. The whole piece bears a very beautiful patina of age and is characterful and decoratively weathered. A perfect frame to convert into a mirror or chalkboard; naturally, an existing or your own painting can also be placed inside.

This fantastic frame is very impressive; it is in good antique condition, with signs of age and use appropriate for its age, superficial cracks due to age, and a few spots along the outside of the frame that were touched up where the gesso layer had chipped.
