The pair are designed with bold gestures that are undeniably inspired by classic Hollywood Regency style that remains one of the most influential design styles in the last 100 years. (circa 1950s).

The tall, tailored ivory toned raw silk wrapped slightly flared but mostly cylindrical drum shades are original and proprietary and made by hand. The top and bottom of the sghades are trimmed in matching dark brown velvet contrast borders. They're cleverly punctuated by suspended circular ring metal details along the top rim. Those same round metal hoops dangle from two flanking positions comprised of a trio of small to large rings that hang like chandelier earrings on the creamy porcelain cheeks of the statuesque bulbous lamp bodies.

Alas, these highly collectable bookend style matching table lamps have no discoverable makers mark. However, they are suspect of having attribution somehow with the collections of The Marbro Lamp Company. The question then remains... "who inspired who?".

Notes on Dimensions: the lamp from the bottom of the round wood plinth at the base is 31" to the single bulb fixture, just above the turtle neck puddled neck. The lamp shades which are in near perfect condition and which are rarely found in such stellar condition on vintage lamps who survive and thrive after years of hot bulbs and rough handling are 20 tall and 16.5 " wide at the flared bottom of the shade. This pair was obviously well cared for. When fully presented, the jumbo shades with the enormous bodies stand around 4' tall. Monumental and remarkable.
