This is her piece made of multiple origami cranes that are formed, all touching, into a heart on an amber background. The piece is considered a renzuru which refers to an origami technique whereby one folds multiple cranes from a single sheet of paper, employing a number of strategic cuts to form a mosaic of semi-detached smaller squares from the original large square paper. The resulting cranes are attached to one another. One notable work is the Past, Present and Future Crane Star which adorns the top of the World Tree of Hope, the world's largest origami tree. This tree appears during the holidays in San Francisco and is completely covered in thousands of origami cranes and stars. The artwork is signed and dated 11/05 under the heart. It is in good condition for its usage. See less
