While it incorporates a center vanity drawer and a built-in beveled mirror, it is structurally configured as a multifunctional entryway station rather than a traditional bedroom dressing table
Unlike flat vanities, this features asymmetrical step-down lower lacquer shelves specifically built to maximize storage space in narrow late-Victorian entry hallways.Hand-Painted Chinoiserie.
The top vanity deck, lower steps, and the face of the center drawer feature geometric diagonal sections inset with hand-painted Japanned lacquer panels depicting natural flora and fauna.
The superstructure is built out with two small projecting cantilever shelves supported by bamboo pins, positioned perfectly on either side of the pivoting glass mirror for small items or candles.
