A set of four vintage Currier & Ives dinner plates featuring The Old Grist Mill from the Currier & Ives collection produced by Royal China Company. Rendered in cobalt blue transferware, each plates depicts a rural landscape framed by an elegant scrolling border.
These plates come from the studio of artist Tawny Chatmon. While Chatmon has begun to incorporates broken and damaged china into her artistic practice, this group was intact when acquired. Rather than breaking these pieces for future work, she has chosen to offer them to collectors, decorators, and china enthusiasts who may appreciate them.
These plates are being offered in a set of 4 for those seeking replacements, additions to an existing set, display pieces, etc. Please view our other listings, as we have separated these and others into smaller groups in case a buyer doesn't need them all.
