Pretty polychrome floral swags … Read more This is a beautiful pair of paint decorated walnut arm chairs by American furniture maker Lane. Pretty polychrome floral swags and gold lining accent the dark-stained walnut frames, which are intentionally distressed for a rustic European feel.

The solid walnut arm chairs feature open urn-shaped backsplats, scrolled arms, padded seats upholstered in rose pink velvet, and curved cabriole style legs ending in stylized paw feet. The legs are united by an H stretcher for added stability. Signed Lane under the seats.

The mid-20th century era arm chairs are in very good vintage condition. All chairs are sturdy and solid. The wood frames are factory distressed but there are scattered scratches and wear on the wood finish, which might be touched up with a furniture marker if desired. One seat’s upholstery is in good shape, but the other is stained. The chairs can be used as is or reupholstered. The dents in the foam are from the chairs being stacked during storage, but the dents disappear with time. Please see photos for more details about the condition of the chairs.

Each arm chair measures 41” tall, 24.75” wide, and 23” deep with an 18.5” seat height and 24” arm height.
