Crafted in France circa 1880, the round vessel features a shallow circular form with gently flared sides, a hand-hammered surface, and a molded rolled rim that gives the piece both strength and sculptural presence. Originally made as a utilitarian basin, the piece has aged beautifully into a decorative object with wonderful warmth and texture.
The copper surface shows a rich, time-softened patina with warm orange, rose, bronze, and verdigris tones throughout. The interior retains natural oxidation, age marks, and surface discoloration that speak to its long history and use.
