Beautiful Japanese four-panel folding screen in the style of celebrated Rinpa master Ogata Kōrin (1658–1716). The screen depicts a vibrant field of blue and purple irises with lush green foliage set against a luminous gold leaf ground, a composition inspired by Kōrin's iconic Irises screens, now recognized among Japan's National Treasures.
According to the original maker's documentation affixed to the reverse, this hand-painted screen was produced in Japan during the winter of 1983–1984 by master screen artisan Juwro Matsuki and artist Showko Shiozawa. The screen features an antique-finished gold leaf background, traditional gold brocade border, and black urushi lacquer-finished frame.
The bold graphic design and reflective gold surface create a striking visual statement, making the piece equally suitable for traditional, Japandi, Hollywood Regency, or contemporary interiors. Display as a decorative screen, room divider, or wall-mounted work of art.
Accompanied by its original shipping box and maker's documentation.
Approximate dimensions: h. 36", w. 66".
Acquired from O&A Auction house in 2026.
