This pair of 20 century antique armchairs is adorn with elaborate carving on the back splat and around the chairs and protruding crest rail. The restoration is intentionally kept to the minimal. All original red finish is untouched. The high yoke back armchair was also commonly called 'Official Hat Chair' because of its resemblance to the wing-like brimmed government official hat. With ornate carving, this pair will be outstanding accent chairs in a living room, or dining room, or hall way
