This item is a rare 1970s custom brutalist lounge chair and ottoman, handcrafted by industrial designer Joshua Height for his studio, Brickermade.

The lounge chair is exceptional- both remarkably comfortable and highly supportive. Its ergonomic design is likely due to the way the wood was expertly shaped and sculpted to naturally conform to the contours of the body, providing an inviting and relaxing seating experience.
Joshua Height was known for building unique furniture using resourced architectural materials.

Design and History
• Materials: The seat and backrest are constructed from thick, contoured solid pine slabs repurposed from an old Chinese bakery. The geometric structural base is built from old industrial metal window frames.
• Origin: Custom-built in Chicago during the 1970s.
• Esthetic: A distinctive intersection of organic live-edge woodwork and industrial brutalism.
