Kohn / Mundus. One chair retains the embossed "Made in Romania for B.M. Lawrence Company, San Francisco" importer mark, stamped model 337 beneath the seat, and a faint circular manufacturer's marking. Its companion is unmarked and features brass seat attachment points on the outer rear legs while sharing the same overall form, construction, and distinctive iris marquetry.

The seats feature a detailed iris motif rendered in contrasting veneers, framed by the classic bentwood construction associated with Viennese café furniture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

One chair shows evidence of an old stabilized seat repair. Minor ridging and age-related wear remain visible on close inspection. The other chair shows typical wear consistent with age and use.

A handsome and increasingly uncommon pair that still carries the character of well-used café furniture rather than later refinishing or heavy restoration.
