The deep amethyst glass appears nearly black under normal lighting and is enhanced by a faceted body, scalloped rim, and matching faceted pedestal foot. The decorative band displays characteristics associated with the celebrated Bohemian “oroplastic” technique, in which textured relief decoration is highlighted with gilded detailing.
