The attached loop on the top lends it to repurposing as a hanging pendant light lampshade in a children's room, as many of our photos demonstrate. The bakelite button eyes date it to approximately the 1930s, making it a unique addition to any basket collection.

To turn it into a plug-in pendant lamp, you would need to create a hole near the top loop or work a cord through the woven rattan. Fix some LED fairy lights inside the basket lid for a sparkly, enchanted lighting effect without altering the basket. Or turn it into a bed canopy by attaching long, sheer, lightweight fabric to it to drape around a headboard. See less
