Offering in excellent condition a vintage Blue Ridge Southern Potteries serving platter featuring the iconic "Crab Apple" pattern.

11.75” long x 9.5' wide x 1” deep

It features deep burgundy-red apples hanging from minimalist, freehand brown tree branches surrounded by vibrant green leaves.

Because every stroke was applied freehand by decorators in Erwin, Tennessee before the final glaze firing, the precise spacing of the branches and sizing of the apples vary slightly on every single surviving piece.

This specific platter was manufactured between 1945 and 1957, making it between 69 and 81 years old.

While the Southern Potteries company operated from the late 1916 until 1957, the design elements narrow down the production window.

The Pattern Release: The "Crab Apple" pattern (#4095) was introduced during the company's peak post-WWII production era in the late 1940s.
