Six stoneware plates from Ratilly / J&N Pierlot / Puisaye
Norbert Pierlot (1919–1979): French actor and ceramicist, born in Algeria. with a background in Lyon's theater scene, he turned to pottery in Burgundy. In 1951, he and his wife, Jeanne Pierlot (1917–1988), née Boutet de Monvel, restored the Château de Ratilly, which became a major center for ceramics and contemporary art. Together, they left their mark on the history of French ceramics through their innovative approach and their commitment to passing on their art.
