A substantial and highly decorative antique Russian samovar produced by the esteemed V.S. Batashev Steam Samovar Factory of Tula, Russia. Widely regarded as one of the premier samovar manufacturers of the Imperial Russian era, Batashev pieces are prized for their quality, craftsmanship, and historical significance.
This large urn-form samovar is executed in nickel-plated brass and decorated with numerous engraved exhibition medals commemorating awards earned by the factory at international expositions during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The body retains its original spigot, turned wood handles, and central chimney tube.
Particularly desirable is the survival of the original fire tube, which remains intact despite a later electrical adaptation. The engraved factory marks and exhibition medallions contribute significantly to its appeal as both a decorative object and a collector's piece.
Its elegant silhouette, rich patina, and impressive scale make it equally suitable for display in a library, study, dining room, traditional interior, or curated collection of European and Russian decorative arts.
