The color is a rich deep amber/chestnut blend with a beautifully aged patina including authentic sun bleaching visible between the ropes wound around the seat frame- attesting to the age of this pair. Both chairs are very stable, including the crudely roped seat and have a classic three-slat ladder-back structure, wooden dowel legs, and supporting side stretchers. The overall frame of each chair is reflective of the period from which it came, with indications of a maker whose focus was on a quality made utilitarian piece that would outlast his generation.
