A classic pair of mid-century modern lounge chairs designed by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates. Commonly referred to as the “Captain’s Chair,” the model 916-CC remains one of Pearsall’s most recognizable and enduring designs.
Crafted from solid walnut and retaining their original finish and beautiful warm patina, the chairs feature Pearsall’s signature combination of sculptural form and inviting comfort. An upholstered oval back appears to float above a gently reclining cantilevered seat, creating a light and elegant profile from every angle.
The chairs have been recently upholstered in a richly textured burnt orange silk-linen blend by Jim Thompson, a period-appropriate fabric that perfectly complements the warmth and character of the walnut frames. Gracefully down-swept arms flow into distinctive wishbone-form sides, giving the design its striking silhouette.
Comfortable, visually dynamic, and exceptionally versatile, these chairs work equally well as statement seating in a living room, study, or reading corner. A wonderful pair ready to be enjoyed. Unmarked.
