We acquired this set of George Nakashima designed Grass Seated chairs from dealer John Robshaw who brought the set over directly from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad India.
George visited the NID back in the early 1960s and gave the Institute the right to produce certain designs for a period of time.
These four are from that period.
They are strong with newly installed cord.
The all original lacquered wood frames have some chips and marks from years of use but still show very well.
Unique, fine collectible set of four.
