This charming 19-piece black transferware dinnerware set was made in England by Barratts and features a richly detailed floral and pheasant motif reminiscent of the beloved Asiatic Pheasants pattern that has decorated English tables for generations. The design showcases two pheasants nestled among abundant florals, framed by an unusual snakeskin-inspired border that gives the pattern a distinctive look compared to traditional Asiatic Pheasants examples. The black and white palette works beautifully in traditional, English country, cottage, and modern farmhouse interiors alike.
Barratts produced practical earthenware and tableware in England during the late 20th century. The “Dishwasher and Microwave Safe” mark suggests this set dates to approximately the 1980s–1990s, making it vintage rather than antique.
