Overview
Important and rare set composed of a cabinet and matching chest of drawers designed by Angelo Gaggioli, produced in Rome during the 1970s. A refined expression of Italian decorative luxury combining architectural rigor, precious materials, and strong scenographic presence.
The set immediately stands out for the extraordinary quality of the burl wood veneer, selected in large mirrored sections with deep and highly dynamic grain patterns that create almost liquid surfaces, enhanced by the high-gloss lacquer typical of the most sophisticated Italian productions of the period.
The composition consists of a double-door cabinet and a four-drawer chest, perfectly coordinated through an extremely geometric construction and elegant vertical satin brass inserts that cross the surfaces, generating a strong graphic rhythm.
The golden bands define the volumes with remarkable compositional balance, interacting beautifully with the warm tones of the burl wood and emphasizing the monumental character of the furniture.
Design & Function
The cabinet presents a compact and almost monolithic silhouette, with severe and architectural proportions recalling the most glamorous high-end Italian productions of the 1970s.
The chest of drawers continues the same aesthetic identity through the continuity of the wood grain and the brass bands running across the drawer fronts, creating a sophisticated linear optical effect.
Highly decorative and scenographic pieces, ideal for contemporary, eclectic, or collectible interiors where the visual richness of the burl wood and the architectural strength of the forms become immediate focal points.
Materials & Aesthetic
The entire set perfectly expresses a distinct idea of Italian luxury typical of the 1970s, characterized by glossy surfaces, precious wood veneers, calibrated metallic details, and an elegant balance between geometric modernism, Art Deco influences, and Hollywood-inspired glamour.
The discreet recessed square handles further reinforce the formal purity of the project.
