Original hardwood handle shows rich wood tones and natural variation in its grain pattern. (looks like oak) The leather protective sleeve fasteners and straps assemble well but with some damage to the snap, see images. This pick is in very good overall condition, with a leather strap as noted. Embossed below the ax side in the leather is the name "Corthes Sellier Lucens."
Length is 20" , and the Iron head is 12" wide. The handle narrows from the neck to the point of grip. This is common for the early miners' picks. The weight is balanced and has a nice feel
