Original hardwood handle shows rich wood tones and natural variation in its grain pattern. (looks like oak) The leather protective sleeve fasteners and straps are in working order. This pick is in very good overall condition. Embossed below the ax side is the name "S. Guslav Ott Sattler Olzer"
Length is 20" , and the Iron head is 12" wide. The handle narrows from the neck to the point of grip. This is common for the early miners' picks. The weight is balanced and has a nice feel
