A striking pair of antique black amethyst glass table lamps in the Mary Gregory style, each featuring hand-enameled white figural decoration of a cherub/putto holding a tambourine amid daisy blossoms and leafy botanical sprays. The classical urn-form bodies sit on beaded brass bases and retain their original brass oil lamp hardware — now electrified. Original black drum shades included, showing age-appropriate wear. Each lamp differs slightly in composition (one cherub faces left, one right), suggesting they are a true decorative pair.
The classical urn-form bodies feature a glossy jet-black ground that makes the crisp white enamel work pop with striking contrast. Each lamp rests on a beaded brass base and retains its original brass oil lamp collar hardware, having been converted to electric. Original black drum shades with gold trim are included.
A versatile pair that works equally well in a maximalist interior, a moody library, or as a bold accent in an otherwise neutral room.

: Glass bodies in good antique condition with minor surface scratches. Oe of the lamps has what looks like a nick and possible fissure crack. You can't feel this with the touch of your finger so it might be the interior paint. ( Last photo) Shades show scuffs and wear., the interiors of the shades are ripped. Wiring is vintage but works well.
