This charming set of six vintage plates showcases the classic craftsmanship of Crown Ducal, an English pottery brand produced by A.G. Richardson & Co. (founded in 1915). These plates are a quintessential example of mid-20th-century English earthenware, featuring the popular "Florentine" style, characterized by a distinct square silhouette with gently rounded corners and an intricately embossed floral relief border.
The center of each plate features a vibrant, multi-colored floral transferware design, showcasing a rich bouquet of flowers that adds a touch of traditional English elegance to any table setting. The combination of the textured, embossed rim and the colorful, delicate floral center creates a beautiful interplay of light and shadow, making them as suitable for display as they are for serving dessert, salad, or small luncheon portions.
