Up for sale is an exceptional, authentic antique Victorian (Circa 1880–1900) Amberina Coinspot art glass cruet, standing approximately 6.5 inches tall to the top of its clear geometric stopper. This specific piece is a magnificent example of a "deep struck" or "over-struck" Amberina. While standard Amberina shades evenly from amber to red, this hand-blown beauty was thoroughly reheated during production, causing the gold-infused glass chemistry to fully "strike". The result is a stunning, deeply saturated ruby-cranberry color that dominates the entire body, while beautifully showcasing the internal optical Coinspot / Inverted Thumbprint pattern. It is elegantly finished with a hand-applied clear glass handle, a coordinating clear stopper, and an authentic ground and polished pontil mark on the base—the definitive hallmark of early, premium hand-blown craftsmanship.
Condition Report:
Cruet Body & Handle: Beautiful antique condition with no chips, cracks, or post-production damage anywhere on the glass body, the delicate ruffled rim, or the applied clear handle.
Stopper Base: The faceted geometric top looks excellent on display. The ground/frosted base peg has minor flea-bite chips from normal historical use. These are completely hidden inside the neck when the stopper is seated and do not affect the piece's stability or display value.
Original As-Made Characteristics: True to late 19th-century hand-blown glass, there are a few original factory production defects.
