Rare One of a Kind Handmade Wunderkammer-style decorative sculpture featuring a branching structure of precious custom hand made large faux red coral branch decorated with antique charms, pendants, rock crystals, and talismans emerging from an ornamental black green hand painted and parcel gilt porcelain vase surmounted on antique 19th century marble base with ormolu details and antique lava rock cameo with red bamboo red corals. It is styled to resemble an antique "Cabinet of Curiosities" specimen display, blending natural history elements with historical artistry.
The vibrant, organic red branches mimic natural Mediterranean red coral (Corallium rubrum). Historically, such large branches were highly prized luxury items collected by European nobility during the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
The branches are adorned with an assortment of suspended historical artifacts, including ancient-style gold coins, medallions, faceted crystal drops, and carved miniature figurines or amulets. This arrangement creates a dense, symbolic assembly of wealth and protection.
The coral is anchored on the green hand painted vase: the octagonal ceramic vase featurs paintings of water birds (such as herons or cranes) and parcel gilt ornaments. This vase rests upon a stepped white antique marble plinth trimmed with gold ormolu bronze band, has an authentic 19th century lave rock decor on the plinth with red bamboo coral support, raised by small ornamental gilt brass feet.
This one of a kind masterpiece is a vintage piece, that recently went through detailed restoration, and glazing. its a unique art object combined with multiple antique elements, natural specimens and old talismans. All hanging relics and crystals are lose and can be redesigned based on personal taste.
Pieces designed like this are often referred to as Wunderkammer (Cabinet of Curiosities) compositions. In the 16th through 19th centuries, wealthy collectors would mount rare, exotic natural materials—such as coral, nautilus shells, and ostrich eggs—onto silver, gold, or stone bases to showcase the intersection of God's natural creation and human craftsmanship. In folklore, red coral was also widely worn as an amulet to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune.
