The vessel has been used strictly as a decorative piece but it may also be suitable as a serving vessel for soups or broths. The tureen was hand painted (most likely in the Umbrian region) in the Majolica style with a renaissance motif. Italian ceramica is celebrated for its vivid colors and intricate hand-painted motifs. This colorful piece is a golden yellow with turquoise accents. Its Raffaellesco pattern features a stylized dragon. See less
