An original modernist table clock manufactured in the former gdr (east germany) around the 1960s–1970s.
a highly distinctive sculptural form inspired by the aesthetics of the space age and the scandinavian modernism of the era. The body is made of turned wood with a beautiful grain, paired with a minimalist brass dial and black hour markers.
the model is equipped with a movement marked “cal. 55 – made in gdr,” typical of east german clocks produced during this period, most likely associated with the ruhla factory.
an exceptionally decorative and rare model with an organic, futuristic silhouette characteristic of the design of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
