An elegant 13.5-inch Chinese porcelain vase featuring a beautifully detailed famille rose figural composition of scholars within a traditional landscape.

The tall cylindrical form is complemented by an elaborate neck and shoulder border executed in black, iron red and delicate polychrome enamels. The reverse continues into a restrained atmospheric landscape, giving the vase visual interest from every angle.

Particularly noteworthy is the oval iron-red seal-script mark incorporated into the body decoration. A separate worn iron-red mark appears on the underside together with later handwritten collection or inventory notations.

The decorative vocabulary recalls Chinese porcelain of the late Qing and Republic-period tradition; however, the precise date, artist and studio have not been established, and the vase is conservatively described as 20th century.

This piece works beautifully in chinoiserie, grandmillennial, traditional, eclectic, or Hollywood Regency interiors.

Good vintage condition overall with age-appropriate wear. One small rim chip present near the mouth edge (see photos). No major cracks observed. Minor kiln and firing irregularities consistent with handmade porcelain. See less
