The main body of the dish radiates outward like a scalloped shell, awash in a luminous, mottled lavender cobalt glaze. There are meticulously hand molded strawberry vines, pale yellow blossoms, and ripening berries. At the base sits a perfectly integrated smaller well, designed to hold the decadent dollop of cream or finely dusted sugar that completed Victorian indulgence. This piece is a prime example of the mastery of the Majolica glazing technique. The rich glazes are applied by hand. This creates an extraordinary sense of depth and dimensionality.

It is in superb condition with "Made in Portugal 849" engraved on the back.
