This monumental vintage folding screen features two stylized peacocks as the central motif, surrounded by elaborate feather forms, scrolling decoration, and geometric tribal-inspired borders, all executed in deeply embossed raised relief that gives the piece an incredibly dimensional and sculptural presence.
Signed and numbered on the lower, right hand side, K. Walton 12/100, the screen appears to be part of a limited edition series and showcases remarkable dimensional detailing throughout. The richly textured embossed surface is masterfully finished to resemble aged tooled leather or repoussé metalwork, with layered patinated tones of bronze, moss, verdigris, and gold creating exceptional depth and movement across the design.
I especially love the balance between the theatrical peacock imagery and the highly graphic feather and scroll motifs that fill nearly every inch of the surface. The palette shifts beautifully depending on the light, revealing warm metallic tones alongside softer earthy greens and antique gold hues. It is a statement, but the more muted colors keep it from feeling over the top.
The screen delivers monumental visual impact and is much easier to position and move than many traditional carved or solid wood screens. The reverse side is equally striking, finished in a warm crackle texture that allows the piece to float beautifully within a room rather than needing to face a wall.
At over 82 inches tall, this is an exceptionally impactful statement piece that works beautifully as a room divider, decorative backdrop, headboard alternative, or large-scale wall installation.

Appears a few hinges may have been repositioned over time. Small piece of wood missing from the bottom leg area on the backside.
