An American Aesthetic Movement frame, circa 1900, executed in solid walnut with a geometric gilt gesso liner. The bold linear ornament and tonal contrast reflect the transitional language between late Victorian design and early Arts & Crafts restraint.
The frame houses a period-appropriate portrait print, included for display; the frame is the primary value driver. Deeply profiled and substantial, it presents well as a complete composition or as a collectible antique frame suitable for reframing.
