While English potters produced … Read more This is a remarkable and rare example of mid-19th-century English transferware by Alcock Brothers (A. Bros). While English potters produced countless patterns featuring pastoral landscapes or Italian ruins, finding detailed Russian imperial imagery on an English piece is quite uncommon.

The bowl displays a central view of St. Isaac’s Cathedral surrounded by detailed vignettes of the Admiralty and the Winter Palace, all labeled in Cyrillic. The reverse side carries the official "Peterburgh" pattern mark and the A. Bros hallmark. Dates to c.1866.
