An exceptional and increasingly difficult-to-find Howard Miller 610-199 grandfather clock, crafted in the United States during the late twentieth century and preserved in outstanding condition. This elegant floor clock features a richly finished burl walnut case with dramatic figured veneers, fluted columns, sculpted bonnet pediment, and an ornate illuminated brass moon dial with Arabic numerals.
The clock houses a premium German cable-driven triple-chime movement, offering Westminster, St. Michael, and Whittington chimes with selectable silence mode. The beautifully engraved brass dial includes a functioning moonphase arch, subsidiary seconds dial, and decorative corner spandrels, all illuminated warmly by the interior case lighting.
The case displays a refined balance between traditional Federal and late Georgian styling, making it equally suitable for formal interiors, executive offices, libraries, and upscale residential spaces. The substantial brass weights and polished lyre pendulum create a striking visual presentation behind the full-length beveled glass door.
Unlike many surviving examples, this clock presents with exceptional visual warmth and a highly desirable burl veneer configuration. The proportions are elegant rather than overly ornate, giving the piece a sophisticated architectural presence.
Professionally maintained and in excellent working condition.
