A very rare Maximillian New York brown leather bar travel suitcase, complete with the original contents: a glass shaker featuring drinks recipes (Martini, Manhattan, Dubonnet, etc.), 8 4" plastic travel cups marked "Welcome Ware Tupper/ Woonsocket, R.I. U.S.A. 103-4" , 4 2" Welcome Ware marked plastic shot glasses, 4 long mixing spoons, the original tag AND the keys to lock up your preferred liquid courage. Everything is in working order: the brass tone hinges work beautifully, the two locking mechanisms snap open with a hearty "clack," the handle shows little evidence of wear as does the whole case, and the stitching is in perfect condition. Markings include hardware stamped "Made in USA," and the interior label states "Leather-Hyde Leather and Plastic Blend, Trade Mark USA." Leather straps inside secure all the glassware, the shaker and two liquor bottles (your choice), and all are in working order with little evidence of use. There is a mirrored folding table (with four charming wooden bun feet) for easy mixing and serving of the drinks. The table folds up and serves as a closure for the bottle compartment.

Case measures 7.5" W x 13"L x 13.75"T (measurements reflect case standing up - the 13.75" height is the height of the functioning bar). An oval brass plate by the handle reads "Maximillian New York, NY". Excellent vintage condition. All the closures work well, and the key is functional. Exterior leather is in excellent condition; interior is pristine. The mirrored table has a few blemishes - please see photos. A great mid-century example of an upscale portable bar. See less
