Ben Swig, owner of the Fairmont Hotel, commissioned Draper to do the interiors to be the crown jewel of San Francisco. Swig built an adjoining 23-story tower with the Crown Room on the top floor and a glass elevator on the outside of the tower with the best views of the City. I've attached an image of the old Crown Room that depicts the chairs. It was a glorious room for special occasions.

These are from my private collection and are in their original condition. They are cast aluminum with leather upholstery, painted in gold and off white. They have quite fancy Neoclassical arms with raised crowns on the back.

They measure 28-3/4" tall and 23" from arm to arm. The seats are 18" in diameter. The seat height is 18-1/4" to the top of the cushion and 26" to the top of the arms.

There is some paint loss and discoloration as noted in the photos. The upholstery is still in tact with very light wear.  They could be repainted if desired, but I've enjoyed them in their "found" condition.

These are quite a rare and special pair of chairs from a sublime room that once graced the top floor of the historic Fairmont Hotel! See less
