Rare set of R & Y Augousti nesting tables in excellent vintage condition.
A refined set of nesting tables by Parisian design house R & Y Augousti, distinguished by their intricate hand-inlaid shell mosaic tray tops composed of mother-of-pearl, abalone, and pen shell slices set within a lacquered ground. The result is a beautifully organic, highly textural surface with subtle iridescence that shifts in the light. Inlaid shell tray tops are removable revealing the equally appealing circular patterned metal top.
The sculptural black metal bases provide a crisp architectural contrast, allowing the richly patterned tops to take center stage. The nesting design offers versatility—use them layered together for a dramatic statement or separately throughout a room.
These are as much a piece of art as they are furniture. This is a design defining piece for a well curated room.
