A set of four Annieglass “Roman Antique” appetizer plates, each hand-formed glass with a 24k gold rim. Most examples are signed and dated to the 1980s (1985, 1989, 1983 & 1983 ).
Roman Antique was introduced in the early 1980s and quickly became Annieglass’s defining design, known for its balance of simplicity and warmth. Unlike later production, these earlier pieces retain subtle variations in form and gold application that reflect their handmade origins.
The glass has a lightly textured surface and a soft, organic feel, with gold rims that catch the light without feeling overly formal.
Condition is very good vintage, with light surface wear consistent with use. No chips or cracks observed.
