A newly restored pair of mid century modern easy chairs in solid teak by Danish design duo Palle Pedersen & … Read more A newly restored pair of mid century modern easy chairs in solid teak by Danish design duo Palle Pedersen & Erik Andersen, produced by Horsnæs Møbelfabrik in the 1960s.

While considerably less prolific than the most recognized names in Danish Modernism — Pedersen & Andersen released only a small handful of designs — their works are perfection incarnate.

The chair starts from a curved backrest that flows downward into a pair of wide, sculpted arms. The arms climb gradually as they approach the front legs and descend ever so slightly at their destination. Brass hardware creates a subtle gap between the frame and the seatback, a visual flourish frequently employed by the most collectible Scandinavian designers..

The frames have been fully refinished. The seats and backrests are newly reupholstered in a sinfully soft chenille fabric from the Lumiere collection by Osborne & Little.

Sixty years on, these lounge chairs remain an unimprovable representative of their category. See less
