The porcelain is a soft white and feels good to the touch. The long cylinder has a short neck and ends in a short tapered feet. There is 3 character shop mark at the base. It is matched with a yellow stone stopper encased in brass, and a brass spoon.

The bottle is a recent purchase from my trip to China last month. I was on a tour visiting gardens and historical buildings, so the chances of visiting antique shops were limited to three short trips. I did not go to Beijing or Shanghai where the chances of finding vintage snuff bottles should be better. The few shops I visited hardly had a variety of Chinese antiques, but only a few snuff bottles that were not what I was looking for. This bottle I found in a snuff shop and I like it even though it is not vintage. The shopkeeper was very pleasant and I had a delightful time practicing my Chinese. conversations skills.

This small size of this bottle is practical. Snuff is being introduced as a substitute for cigarettes, and this is pocket size and can easily kept in a purse. See less
