Large Size Measuring Approx 8 inches Tall x 5 inches … Read more An Outstanding, Rare & Fine Quality Authentic Antique Door Knocker. Large Size Measuring Approx 8 inches Tall x 5 inches Long. It It Comes From the Classic Victorian Aesthetic Period - Circa Approx 1880s - 1890s. Origin - Most Likely French Made for Export. It is Rendered in a Wonderful Medusa Face ( Greek Mythological Gorgon Sister Style ) with with Exceptionally Good Attention to Detail in the Completely Hand Made, Heavy Solid Cast Features. There is a Separate Plaque Applied with 2 Small Screws Across the Top the Read "VANDELSECK" - This Most Likely Being the Name of the Original Family Owner. It is in Excellent All Original Condition - Exactly as Removed From the Original Door - Displays Beautifully. It Still Retains its Wonderful Age and Weather Related Patina that Cannot be Duplicated But it Would Also Polish Beautifully if So Desired. No Damage - No Repairs. It is Designed to be Flush Mounted with 2 Bolts From the Back Side of the Door. PLEASE NOTE That Although I was Abel to Find the 3 Bolts That are Included They are Only Intended to be Used as a Reference as to the Gauge and Thread Size of the Bolts that Will be Actually be Required for Mounting ( By Design These Will Most Likely Not be Usable ). They are of the American Standard Gauge and Thread Pattern Still in Common Use These Days and You Should Be Able to Find Them at a Hardware Store.
